Tapanda Pty Ltd ABN 91 632 485 440 (referred to as ‘Tapanda’, ‘We’ or ‘Company’) and its related bodies (Tapanda and Cosmic Recoveries) is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information. We manage motor vehicle assessments and insurance claims recoveries for and on behalf of insurers, underwriting agencies, brokers and suppliers to the general insurance industry.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual.

In order to provide our services we may need to collect certain personal data about you. The data processed will depend on your relationship with us (such as client policy holder, third party policy holder, witness, claimant, website user, appointed representative, employee, prospective employee or other person relating to our business).

  • Identification Information – such as insurance policy and claim number, driving licence etc.

  • We may also obtain sensitive information if you voluntarily provide it to us though the course the business that we carry out.
  • Telephone recordings, dashcam & CCTV footage – telephone calls with you will often be recorded for staff training purposes and to assist in liability determination, or the investigation and prevention of fraud.

The data we collect will only be relevant to the service you require and by submitting these details to us you will enable us to carry out this service for you efficiently and effectively.

This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including correspondence, by telephone and facsimile, by email, via our website/s www.tapanda.com.au or www.cosmicrecoveries.com.au, from your website, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies and from third parties. We don’t guarantee website links or policy of authorised third parties.

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our company services to you, providing information to our clients and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.
